The Towle Theater announces a Benefit Concert for Kelly Bourget. This one-hour concert will feature song selections from opera and musical theater pieces as well as featuring some of her voice and piano students. Kelly has the opportunity of a life time to go to The American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) which is located in Graz, Austria. It is a six week summer program for singers, pianists, and orchestra. It is designed to prepare young artists for a career in music. It offers one-on-one training with its faculty, performing in more than 30 concerts at different venues around Austria, master classes with working professionals, competitions, and auditioning for agents and directors. This is a huge opportunity for her.
Kelly Bourget, 24, received her Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance from Ball State University in 2015. Since then she has been performing in opera and musical theater productions consistently in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana areas.
The Benefit Concert is on April 30 at 8pm at the Towle Theater. The tickets are free, but donations are welcome. Space is limited so call ahead for reservations at 219-937-8780. All proceeds go toward Kelly Bourget’s tuition and travel expenses.
