Towle Theater is excited to offer ten workshop sessions, Summer Skills Series, over the course of two weeks this summer for students ages 12-18. The workshops will run Monday-Friday July 10-14 and July 17-21 from 1pm-4pm.
Each day will focus on a different aspect of theater.
Mondays - Dialect
Lauren Demerath, a teacher of dialect at Second City Training Center, will teach the proper dialect technique for Standard British and American Southern.
Tuesdays - Stage Combat
Taught by combat specialist Mark Baer, Associate Professor of Acting and Directing at IU Northwest.
Wednesdays - Singing
Taught by Music Educator and Towle Theater Musical Director, Elizabeth Tuazon featuring a selection from the Towle’s upcoming Heathers, The Musical.
Thursdays - Audition Preparation
Everything you need to know to feel comfortable at an audition with Elizabeth Tuazon & Jeff Casey, Towle Managing Director.
Fridays - Choreography
Chicago Choreographer, Colin Funk will teach choreography from the Towle’s upcoming Heathers, The Musical. Colin just appeared in the Towle’s hit musical Nunsense A-Men as Sister Leo.
Each day, during the second week of workshops, will have the same discipline focus but will expand upon what was covered the previous week. You may choose one session or as many as you would like.
The cost for an individual workshop is $25. If you decide to take all five classes in one week the cost is $100, no refunds.
There is a minimum of 6 participants needed to run the workshop.
Cancellation due to lack of enrollment will occur one week prior to each workshop.
